Army trains 2,723 soldiers on weapons, tactics

Nigerian Army Training Centre, (NATRAC) Kontagora yesterday graduated 2, 723 soldiers of 76 Regular Intake on rigorous Professional Soldier Training with emphasis on tactics, navigation, weapon handling, physical fitness and development of team spirit.

The breakdown shows that 2, 448 males and 275 females participated in the programme, and four women dismissed for “untoward” behaviours, while one Pte Ramson Apenal died in the cause of the training.

Addressing the graduands, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt -Gen Tukur Buratai, represented by the Commandant Corps of Artillery, Major General Muhammad Garba said the training was one of the several measures being taken to adequately prepare troops of the Nigerian Army to be able to perform their duties in the defence of the nation.
