Tracking Anambra election: Juju scares voters in Nkpor

Voters in Nkpor, Anambra state have been reported to have fled Ilogwu Orie Nkpor polling unit, over Juju scare as seven spiritual charms were seen at the entrance of the polling unit. PDP candidate  casting his vote at Osuche Ward 6 in Ogbaru LGA. Voting commenced by 12.15pm at Odoakpu Ward 2 located at Central School Onitsha with enthusiastic voters queueing to cast their votes. Senator Joy Emodi who voted manually following the failure of the card reader to function properly commended the peaceful manner the exercise was going on. No violence has been witnessed at Aguleri and Nsugbe as electorates are waiting for their turns and a large crowd was noticed in the two towns. Minor squabble at Nwoye’s Ward.

Awka minor squabble erupted at Tony  Nwoye’s ward when a middle aged man went to the polling centre and  caused commotion leading to a minor fight. Security men however  brought the situation under control  within minutes and voting  continued. APC candidate, Dr Tony  Nwoye was still  to vote as at 11am Man arrested for allegedly trying to buy votes The Department of State Security, DSS, has arrested a man who was trying to buy votes from voters during the electoral process in Anambra.

As the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) commenced the distribution of materials and voting in the Registration Area Centres (RAC) across the 21 local government areas of Anambra.
